FamilySearch Indexing News
Welcome to FamilySearch Indexing!
We hope that you will enjoy the time you spend working with this ground-breaking family history initiative. Our goal is to make the records currently held in the Granite Mountain Vault and other genealogical repositories accessible to family history researchers around the world. In order to do this, we need your help. The task may seem daunting at times, but together we can accomplish great things. During 2007, 95 million names were indexed.
If you have not done so already, begin by clicking the Volunteer button to register for a user name and password, and then click the Start Indexing button.
As this worldwide movement continues to grow, we will strive to keep you informed of indexing news, successes, and training. Please refer back to this page often for updates and notices regarding all aspects of FamilySearch indexing.
The data and images collected through FamilySearch indexing are available on the Record Search Web site at http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch.
